Former Prime Minister of India and Congress leader Dr Manmohan Singh passed away at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, on Thursday, 26 December. He was 92.
Dr Manmohan Singh served as the prime minister of India for a decade from 2004 to 2014, and is often described as one of India's most successful finance ministers.
In its note, AIIMS said that he lost consciousness on the evening of 26 December and resuscitative measures were started at home. He was brought to AIIMS at 8:06 pm, where he passed away at 9.50 pm, the hospital said.
