The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is headed towards the 2/3 majority mark in the latest trends as vote counting for the 70-seat Delhi Assembly continues on Saturday, 8 February.
The incumbent Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which held a dominant majority in the national capital for over two decades, faces a crushing defeat as senior leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia lose their respective constituencies of New Delhi and Jangpura.

Vote counting for the Delhi Assembly election began at 8 am on 8 February.
The voter turnout in the single-phase election was recorded at 60.42 percent.
'Will Make Yamuna Identity of Delhi': PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing party workers at the BJP headquarters, said that he would ensure that the Yamuna river becomes the "identity" of Delhi.
"The existence of Delhi itself has flourished in the lap of Mother Yamuna. The people of Delhi have been crying after seeing the condition of Yamuna as the AAP-DA in Delhi has insulted this faith. For their own failure, such a big accusation has been made on the people of Haryana. I have pledged during the election campaign that we will make Yamuna ji the identity of Delhi," he said.
"I know this is not very difficult. No matter how much time is taken, no matter how much energy is used, but if the resolve is strong, then blessings of Yamuna ji will remain with us," the prime minister added.
'We Humbly Accept Mandate': Rahul Gandhi
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that his party "humble accepts the mandate" of the Delhi assembly election.
"We humbly accept the mandate of Delhi. Heartfelt thanks to all the Congress workers of the state for their dedication and all the voters for their support. This fight for the progress of Delhi and the rights of Delhiites – against pollution, inflation and corruption – will continue," he took to X to say.
'People of Delhi Free of 'AAP-da': PM Modi
PM Narendra Modi, while addressing party workers at the BJP headquarters, said, "People of Delhi are filled with enthusiasm today. They are also relieved because Delhi is now free of 'AAP-da'. I had sent a letter to Delhiites in which I urged them to give BJP a chance to serve them in the 21st century and to make Delhi 'viksit' (developed) capital of India."
