BJP’s Roopa Ganguly of ‘Mahabharat’ Fame Replaces Sidhu in RS

Roopa Ganguly came into the limelight in 1988 as Draupadi in the hit televised version of Mahabharata.

• Actor and BJP leader Roopa Ganguly was nominated to the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.
• Ganguly had unsuccessfully contested the West Bengal Assembly elections this year on a BJP ticket. She was nominated by President Pranab Mukherjee to the seat vacated by Navjot Singh Sidhu.
• She came into the limelight in 1988 as Draupadi in the hit television series ‘Mahabharata’.
