Over a decade after a cancelled dinner invitation by Nitish Kumar for BJP leaders broke a long-running alliance at that time, the Bihar Chief Minister on Thursday, 12 July hosted the saffron party’s Chief Amit Shah for breakfast as well as dinner in what is being seen as an attempt to dispel rumblings about differences in a revived alliance.
After breakfast, seen by political observers as an ice breaker amid talks in some corners about growing differences over seat sharing for Lok Sabha polls next year, Kumar and Shah met again over dinner signalling all was well in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
As per the two party leaders, they held wide-ranging talks on the current political situation in Bihar and the NDA's strategy for contesting the 40 seats in the state in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
