Minor Boy Seeks Court's Permission to Donate Liver to Father; SC Issues Notice

The counsel of the petitioner submitted that the boy's father is in critical condition.

The Supreme Court issued a notice to the State of Uttar Pradesh on Friday, 9 September, on a writ petition filed by a minor boy seeking permission to donate liver to his critically ill father.

According to The Transplantation of Human Organs Act 1994, only adults and deceased minors are allowed to donate organs.
