President Approves Bobde as Next CJI, Oath-Taking on 18 November

CJI Ranjan Gogoi on 18 October had sent a letter to the Centre recommending Justice Bobde as his successor.

President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday, 29 October signed a warrant appointing Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde as the next Chief Justice of India, The Times of India (TOI) reported.

Justice Bobde will reportedly take oath as CJI on 18 November.

Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi on 18 October had sent a letter to the Centre recommending Justice Bobde, who is next in seniority, as his successor.
