Indonesia Shuts Bali Airport Due to Ash From Volcano
Indonesia's airport in Bali will be shut on 29 June, until 7 pm local time due to the impact of volcanic ash from an eruption at Mount Agung on the resort island, the airport operator Angkasa Pura and the country's disaster agency told Reuters.
An eruption at the volcano had caused an ash column of 2,500 metres, Reuters reported.
Trump Says Will Raise Election Meddling with Putin in Helsinki Meeting
US President Donald Trump said on Friday he would raise the issue of alleged Russian meddling in US elections during his planned meeting with President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki next month.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on his way to New Jersey, Trump also said he would discuss the conflicts in Syria and Ukraine and other international issues with Putin during the July 16 summit.
"I'll talk to him about everything," Trump said.
"We're going to talk about Ukraine, we're going to be talking about Syria. We'll be talking about elections ... we don't want anybody tampering with elections."
Irdai Permits LIC to Pick up to 51% Stake in Debt-Ridden IDBI Bank
Insurance behemoth LIC will acquire up to 51 per cent stake in state-owned IDBI Bank after regulator Irdai approved the plan that will help convert the debt-ridden lender into a private sector entity.
According to sources, the board of Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (Irdai) at its meeting held today in Hyderabad permitted Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) to increase the current stake from 10.82 per cent to 51 percent in IDBI Bank.
