Indrani Mukerjea, former head of INX Media who is under trial for the alleged murder of her daughter Sheena Bora, was hospitalised late on Friday, 1 June.
She was admitted in the Critical Care Unit at JJ Hospital in Mumbai at 11:30 pm after she complained of chest pain.
According to hospital authorities, Mukerjea, who has been lodged in Byculla women’s jail over allegations of murdering her daughter, is now in a stable condition.
This is the second time Mukerjea is being hospitalised this year. In April, she was admitted to JJ Hospital over suspicions of overdosing on pills. The hospital said that she had overdosed on anti-depressants that were not prescribed to her.
Soon after that, Mukerjea petitioned the court alleging that there is a threat to her life in prison and someone was trying to poison her.
The former head of INX Media was also hospitalised for nearly a week in October 2015. Back then, doctors treating her had said that she had overdosed on anti-epileptic pills.
Mukerjea, her husband Peter, ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna, and driver Shyamvar Rai were arrested in 2015 for the murder of Sheena.
