A woman from the Birbhum district of West Bengal was allegedly gang-raped by three men in the wee hours of Monday. The woman said that the accused inserted a glass bottle into her private parts, reported Hindustan Times.
It is also being said that the accused were drunk when they committed the act.
The report states that the victim – hailing from Sainthia – was taken to a local hospital five hours after the incident, which occurred at 1:30 am. She cannot be shifted to a larger hospital for treatment, as her condition is said to be serious.
According to the woman, her hands were tied and mouth was gagged by the accused after they entered her house by force. Though her daughter raised an alarm upon hearing her cries, no one came to the rescue.
The incident comes a few years after the infamous Park Street and Kamduni gang rape cases in West Bengal in 2012 and 2013 respectively.
