The Faridabad police claim to have been instantly alerted by two different people about the woman’s abduction; one was an eyewitness who saw it happen and the other was the victim’s cousin, who was on a call with her at the time, the report added.

The police deployed several teams to track down the woman’s whereabouts, and security was tightened at the checkpoints. She was finally found near a petrol pump in the Sikri area around 9pm, The Hindu reported.

The incident took place around 7 pm.

The police had initially filed an FIR under Section 365 of the IPC (kidnapping or abducting), at the Old Faridabad police station, based on the complaints registered by her family, reported The Indian Express.

The case has now been transferred to the women’s police station, where additional relevant sections will be added to the FIR, the report added.

As reported by The Hindu, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime Against Women) Pooja Dabla has been deployed to probe into the matter.
