A purported video of Haryana Chief Minister and BJP leader Manohar Lal Khattar threatening his aide with an axe has gone viral on social media. In the video tweeted by Congress Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala on Wednesday, 11 September, an unidentified man can be seen placing a crown on Khattar’s head.

However, Khattar turns back, while adding that he “will chop off” the man’s head. Responding to the video, the Haryana CM said he would get angry if he someone "ties a silver crown on his head” since the party “ended the culture after coming to power”, ANI reported.

The initial moments of the one-minute and 57-second clip shows Khattar getting angry at his aide after he tries to make him wear a crown.

Surjewala, in Hindi, tweeted “Anger and pride are harmful for health. Why does Khattar sir get angry? While showing axe to his aide, he is saying “I will chop off your head”. The what will he do to the public?”

“Today if someone, specially my party worker ties a silver crown on my head, I’ll get angry and I can’t tolerate it. We ended this culture after coming to power. He’s an old party worker and he didn’t feel bad.”

Official page of Haryana Congress also shared Khattar’s video.

This is not the first time Khattar has made headlines for losing his temper. In June this year, a video of him pushing aside a man who tried to click a selfie with him outraged many after it went viral on social media.
