Union Minister Ramkripal Yadav was denied VIP entry to Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport in Patna on Tuesday. As the minister tried to enter the airport through the exit gate, he was stopped in his tracks by a woman CISF official.

According to an airport official the woman officer then asked the minister to wait outside while she took instructions from her seniors over wireless.

I was in a hurry and made the mistake of trying to enter through the exit gate. However, when the lady official asked me to take another gate, I obeyed and entered through the entry gate.

“I did not argue with the officer or say anything to her,” he said, refuting claims that he had been rude to the official. The minister instead lauded the official’s commitment to duty.

Yadav had come to the airport to receive Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya.
