Unnao Case: Survivor’s Family Receives Rs 25 Lakh After SC’s Order
In the collision that happened on Sunday, 28 July, two aunts of the rape survivor died.
After the Supreme Court, on Thursday, 1 August, asked the counsel to take Unnao rape survivor’s family's opinion into consideration in regards to shifting her to a hospital in Delhi, the medical board gave its nod to the transfer.
The apex court also transferred all the cases related to the Unnao rape incident to Delhi and ordered completion of probe into the car-truck collision case in seven days.
It directed the state of Uttar Pradesh to give Rs 25 lakh interim compensation to the rape survivor.
Earlier on Thursday, the Bharatiya Janata Party expelled the main accused in the Unnao rape case, MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar.

- On Sunday, 28 July, a car carrying the Unnao rape survivor, her aunts and advocate Mahendra Singh collided with a truck in Raebareli

Unnao District Administration Sends Rs 25 L Cheque to Rape Survivor's Family
Acting in compliance with the Supreme Court order, the Unnao district administration sent a cheque of Rs 25 lakh to the Lucknow district magistrate for handing it over to the rape survivor's family, PTI reported.
Central Leadership Has Expelled MLA Kuldeep Sengar: UP BJP President
Clarifying the confusion over the expulsion of Unnao rape accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, Uttar Pradesh BJP President Swatantra Dev Singh said that the central leadership has expelled Sengar from the party.
Earlier, the BJP leader had said, Sengar was "suspended," instead of "expelled."
The state leadership had suspended him and now the top party brass has expelled him from the BJP, Singh added.
SC Designates District Judge Dharmesh Sharma as Competent Court to Hold Trial
The Supreme Court has designated District Judge Dharmesh Sharma of Delhi as competent court to hold trial in five cases relating to Unnao rape incident, PTI reported.
UP Govt Subverting Process of Justice in Unnao Case: CPI(M)
The CPI(M) on Thursday alleged that the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has blatantly subverted the process of justice in the Unnao rape case and hailed the Supreme Court for intervening in the case, according to PTI.
“It has taken two years after the crime for BJP to expel him showing the utter hypocrisy of their Beti Bachao slogan. Shame on them,” CPI(M) politbureau member Brinda Karat said.
