Uber has hired a law firm to investigate the handling of medical records of the woman who had been raped in India by an Uber driver in 2014.

The involvement of former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick in the attainment of her medical records is also to be probed. The investigation is underway and currently does not point to any conclusive evidence, according to a report by Reuters.

Kalanick who had taken an indefinite leave of absence some time back, resigned on 20 June following pressure from investors amidst speculations of a rift.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Uber was being sued by the rape survivor for violating her medical privacy.

She filed a lawsuit against Kalanick and two former top executives, Emil Michael and Eric Alexander, for “intrusion into private affairs, public disclosure of private facts and defamation,” reported The New York Times.
