Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau really has some sense of humour. Addressing the students at the American University, he made fun of none other than our own Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet. How?
Trudeau visit to US on Thursday ended a frosty period in bilateral ties. After assuming office in November 4 last year, the 44-year-old surprised everyone, specially India by including four Indian-origin Canadians in his cabinet.
Out of the four, three are Sikhs – that is where the comment
comes from. The Indian-origin minister in Canada cabinet are:
Harjit Sajjan: Defence Minister
Bardish Chagger: Minister of Small Business and Tourism
Amarjeet Sohi: Minister of Infrastructure and Communities
Navdeep Bains: Minister of Innovation, science and economic development
Indian-Born Ex-Soldier Sworn in as Canada’s New Defence
Minister
In contrast, there are two Sikh Cabinet ministers in Modi
government – Maneka Gandhi who is Sikh by birth and Harsimrat Badal who holds
the Ministry for Food Processing.
