Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, convicted for his alleged involvement in 1993 Mumbai blasts, headed back to Yerwada Jail, on Saturday.

The 56-year-old actor, sentenced to five years in jail in 2013 by the Supreme Court (SC), was out on an extended parole for the second time.

Former SC judge, Justice Markandey Katju had filed for pardon of jail term for Dutt and Zaibunnisa Kazi, another convict in the 1993 Mumbai blast case.

Katju’s plea to the Governor of Maharashtra, Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao, was rejected on September 24.
