1. 43 Killed in Massive Fire in Delhi’s Anaj Mandi; Building Owner Arrested
In one of the worst fire accidents in the city, 43 people were killed after a massive blaze ripped through a four-storey building housing illegal manufacturing units in north Delhi’s Anaj Mandi area on Sunday morning, police and fire officials said.
Most of the people working in the units were fast asleep when the fire broke out in the second floor of the building in the early hours and 30 fire tenders were pressed into service, fire officials said.

2. CAB in House Today, Shah May Announce Relief for Manipur
Ahead of the tabling of the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in Lok Sabha on Monday, the government is said to have worked out “alternative arrangements” to accommodate Manipur’s concerns. While these steps may not be a part of the Bill itself, these are likely to be announced by Union Home Minister Amit Shah as he introduces the legislation.
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, who led a delegation to meet Shah on 3 December, told The Indian Express that the measures could either be an entry and exit permit system, or a provision for Inner Line Permit (ILP).

Bengaluru: The results of the 5 December bypolls to 15 Assembly seats in Karnataka will be declared on Monday and will have a bearing on the future of chief minister BS Yediyurappa’s government, which enjoys a wafer-thin majority in the state.

7. 87% Dip in Domestic Tourists to Kashmir Since August
A little over 32,000 domestic tourists visited Kashmir between August and November, but like the verdant highland pastures now buried under snow, tourism in the Valley seems frozen in time.
The four-month figure marks a steep decline of 87 percent from the 2.49 lakh domestic tourists Kashmir had hosted during the corresponding period last year. In terms of foreign tourist arrivals, the dip is 82 percent.

9. In Compromise, Govt Advises JNU to Notify Students’ Union, Withdraw Cases
The Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry has advised the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) administration to notify the students’ union and withdraw the police complaint against students as the first step to end the standoff at the university.
