The Neelesh Misra Show: A Kick-Boxer With An Exceptional Story
A number of heroes live among us, silently fighting their own battles every day. The Quint has joined hands with India’s biggest rural media platform, Gaon Connection, to bring you ‘The Neelesh Misra Show’. Through the show, we will attempt to bring you the stories of these heroes – stories that often go unnoticed in the mad rush of life.
The show focuses on individuals who have the power to motivate the world, with their courage to battle adversity.
In this episode, we meet Dimpy Tiwari, a national level kick-boxing gold medalist and a silver medalist in Taekwondo.
Tiwari’s father, an Army jawan, died of a heart attack when she was 13. Her family wanted to get her married, but she had other plans. One day, when she spotted a few boys training in Taekwondo in a school near hers, she decided this was the life she wanted to lead. Over the years, she began to support her family by holding self-defence training sessions for other girls.
