A series of colourful Instagram posts have revived in public memory the instance of how Sushma Swaraj had once helped out Lalit Modi.
On August 14, 2014, the External Affairs Minister had helped him to be with his cancer-ridden wife in Lisbon – despite him being probed by various Indian agencies for a series of questionable activities. How has the flamboyant Lalit Modi kept himself in the news, since? By touring and partying around the world.
With Hollywood celebs like Paris Hilton on his arm in Cuba and Naomi Campbell in Jamaica, Modi seems to be making the most of Sushma Swaraj’s “humanitarian intervention”.

*In February this year, the former BCCI chairman was in Pattaya where he was invited to be in the presentation party of the Max Muay Thai World Championship 2015. Modi presented a cheque of $15,000 to the runner-up of the competition. Picture was posted on February 1, 2015.
*During the month of January this year, Modi was travelling around Florence, Italy, with his spouse (who was getting treated for cancer last year) and Jay Mehta, co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders and Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla’s husband. Picture was posted on March 30, 2015.
*Minal Modi, wife of the former BCCI chairman posing for a picture outside a cathedral in city of Santiago De Compostela in Spain. The couple were travelling in the country with their children. Picture was posted on March 17, 2015.
*Here, Modi can be seen with his friend Jose Munoz enjoying the view at La Réserve Boutique Hotel and Spa in Paris. The picture was posted by him on January 26, 2015.
*While he may have been travelling around in France, Italy and Spain during the early part of March, during the end of the month he was incidentally in Phuket, Thailand, partying with his “friends”.
*Modi at the wedding of Yash Goenka – son of realtor Pramod Goenka and jewellery designer Bina Goenka – to Natasha Narang, daughter of Poonam and Ramesh Narang (of the Ambassador Hotel, Mumbai, fame) in Istanbul, Turkey. Picture was posted on May 28, 2015.
*Three days ago, Modi was in Venice, Italy with his daughter Aliya and her friend Samara Gupta. The family is staying in JW Marriot in Venice.
