After a video of a policeman shouting "thain thain" during an encounter to scare criminals went viral, Uttar Pradesh police has decided to reward the "bravery" of the sub-inspector.

The video showed Sambhal's sub-inspector Manoj Kumar mimicking the gun shot sound after his gun jammed during the encounter. It went viral after netizens started mocking it.

The UP police, however, has sent Kumar's name for a commendation disc and certificate from the director general of police, reported The Times of India.
