On Friday, 29-year-old television show host and serial actor Sabarna Anand was found dead in her apartment.
The Times of India reports that her wrist was found slashed and she was lying in a pool of blood.
The neighbours called the police after a foul smell started emanating from the house. Police broke the door open and found the actor’s body in a highly-decomposed state with an injury on her hand, reported The Hindu.
Police suspect that she had died three days ago. The New Indian Express reported that the suicide note spoke about how she was struggling to get opportunity in the cinema field and also facing turmoil in her relationship with a man.
Sabarna’s father Anandkumar, mother Pushpalatha and her brother were living in Virugambakkam. Sabarna preferred to stay alone in her apartment. She hails from Udumalaipettai in Tiruppur district.
She was acting in TV serials like Pasamalar on Sun TV and had done several shows for Star Vijay, including Pudhu Kavidhai and a cooking show.
An actor told The News Minute, "She was a very bold person, but she had a lot of personal issues. She used to take relationships and friendships very seriously, but she used to brave her way out of issues. She used to get tensed, but this is unexpected.”
In March 2016, Tamil television artist and film actor S Sai Prashanth was found dead at his residence in Valasarawakkam in Chennai. He was said to be depressed about his personal and professional life, and his death had shocked the industry.
