This is an attempt to tarnish the Hindu religion and its representatives, otherwise Hindu religion would leave other religions behind. He has been framed.
Prem Purohit, Asaram follower.

Purohit firmly believes that the charges against the self-styled godman, Asaram Bapu, are fabricated, and that it is being done to malign the Hindu religion. These charges date back to August 2013, when a 16-year-old girl said that in a bid to ‘cure her of evil’ she was raped by Asaram. He allegedly forced her to perform oral sex and touched her inappropriately.

Another supporter The Quint spoke to, Dasraj, said that the complainant’s family wanted money out of Asaram, to which the ‘godman’ declined. It was in anger thereafter, that the family filed a rape case against him.

These are the followers of Asaram, who have, in spite of the charges against him and despite him being in jail for almost five years now, continued to support him.

Dasraj also says that he went and spent time with Asaram’s family in Gujarat, when he was in jail.

So far, the law and order situation in Jodhpur has been under control. The state police has ensured that Asaram’s supporters do not gather around the Central Jail or the Jodhpur High Court, in a situation similar to what erupted in Panchkula during the Ram Rahim case verdict.

When asked if they would want to go and support Asaram, Purohit said, “If they let us go there, only then will it be possible. They will stop us before we reach there. They know that a situation akin to the Ram Rahim case might arise. Being scared of the situation, they aren't letting people go. A saint like Asaram doesn’t come often,” Dasraj added that it was due to the good deeds of Asaram that he had such loyal supporters behind him.

The verdict is due on 25 April and the maximum sentence that Asaram can get is 10 years. He has spent almost five years in prison.
