As many as 64 beagles have been released from a testing laboratory in Bangalore this week and will be up for adoption over the weekend. The fortunate part of this tale is that these dogs haven’t been tested upon; some are breeding stock while others were awaiting test approvals that didn’t come through.

Some argue that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but excuse me, I completely beg to differ. Ain’t nothing like a large lunch laden with cheesy goodies and fried beauties with the friends and family, followed by some generous siesta time.

While parathas and dal makhni might be our lunch staples, we’re sure you want to break with tradition every once in a while. How about taking a bite of whatever the rest of the world eats for lunch?

How About Celebrating a Valentine’s Dandiya Day? Super Che!

This Sunday, sit back and enjoy some of The Quint’s best work through the week.

Have you ever wondered how similar Navratri and Valentine’s Day are? One is a nine-day long festival, and worships a goddess. The other is an eight-day long festival which also worships a goddess (read: girlfriend, wife). The desi festival is all about nine colours, which celebrates the many virtues of the goddess, whereas the videsi festival is all about eight gifts which celebrates the many virtues of your partner.

So this Valentine’s Dandiya, let’s dance to the beat of coochie-cooness and introduce to an entire new giftopedia. This would definitely save you from doing garba in each and every shop, hunting for that perfect gift.

The Nobel peace prize nominations list is out and guess who’s on the list this time.

Donald Trump!

That’s right. Kritian Berg Harpviken, head of the Peace Research Institute in Oslo said a US nominator (whom he did not identify) had proposed Trump for his “vigorous peace through strength ideology”.

Dear Feminism Haters, Here’s a Preamble That’ll Make it Clearer

This Sunday, sit back and enjoy some of The Quint’s best work through the week.

Feminism in India has always been misunderstood by society at large. People love to bash feminism – accusing it of being anti-male and skewed towards females.

The ludicrousness of this mindset – I’ve often believed – is aided by the lack of well defined principles and guidelines which have led to many negative interpretations of feminism.

So how about a preamble or a constitution that defines feminism – or at least makes an attempt to?
