Shashi Tharoor is one of the most sought-after personalities on social media in the country. The politician is widely considered a Twitter champ, with 6.04 million followers.

Delhi's 10th LGBTQI parade took place on Sunday, 12 November. While the parade was a huge success with hundreds of people walking the roads of central Delhi and indulging in dance and music, one attendee held a placard reading, "Shashi Tharoor, marry me".

In his trademark style, Tharoor responded to the besotted young man.

It’s no surprise that Tharoor, with his easy manner, makes him popular among the youth of the country, and a magazine tagged him in a tweet with the boy's photo saying “Mr. Shashi Tharoor, you should see this. You have a huge fan following.”

Now Tharoor has responded to the tweet in his signature style saying, “Haha! Now if they were only registered to vote in Thiruvananthapuram, it would be even better!

Of course, the jocular tweet inspired his fans to ask him to run for Prime Minister!
