Shaina NC Files FIR Against Man For Trolling Her

BJP spokesperson and socialite Shaina NC has registered a complaint with the cyber cell of Malabar Hill police station against one Sheikh Akmal Azmi for using obscene language and trolling her on a social networking site. The person against whom the complaint has been filed is a resident of Azamgarh and claims to be a party worker of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM).

Last time I faced a similar situation, I filed the complaint very late. So this time I did not want to repeat that mistake. I had actually given an interview on a news channel in which I had praised the PM. This man has been trolling me for that. How can he even use such language against a lady?

The accused had started trolling her on Saturday and Shaina filed the FIR on the same day.

Watchman Held for Rape Bid on Elderly Woman in Andheri Flat

A 20-year-old watchman has been arrested by Amboli police for the rape and assault of an elderly lady in a plush society in Andheri on Thursday night. The victim, who was stabbed twice in her stomach and has bite-marks all over her body, has been admitted to Cooper hospital and is undergoing treatment.

The incident took place when the accused, identified as Raja Shebu, was on duty. The victim had called for a cable operator. As per the rule, the operator approached the watchman, after which he was told to come up to the flat. Instead of directing the cable man to the victim’s flat, the accused took him up to the flat and stood outside the house even while the cable operator was working. After the cable operator had left, the accused pretended to leave but returned immediately and started speaking to the woman inside her house.

For BEST Staff Salary Is Chillar

This is what is called ‘adding insult to injury’. After struggling to pay its employees their salaries, BEST has begun handing them Rs 500 of their monthly take-homes in Rs 10 coins. BEST, which is facing one of its worst financial crisis, began handing out coins as part of salaries after a private bank refused to accept Rs 1.25 crore in small change the BMC-controlled transport undertaking had collected over the past few months.

Over 42,000 BEST employees were paid their February salaries on March 20, almost 15 days behind schedule. And that too only after the undertaking was able to secure an emergency loan from a private bank.

Nitish Enters the Battlefield in Maharashtra

Advocating a pan-India legion of opposition parties to counter the current political scenario and the ‘negative politics’ in 2019 general election, Nitish Kumar launched his party, Janata Dal (United) in a grand ceremony in Goregaon on Saturday.

In his half-hour speech, Kumar focussed on boasting about the policies implemented by his government in Bihar, especially the liquor ban policy. “Women were depressed before the liquor ban and now the society is enjoying the fruits of the liquor ban policy. Consumption of commodities such as milk, garment, and furniture has increased. Road accidents have reduced drastically. History tells us that China was hit by opium consumption, but they overcame the problem, controlled its production and now are a leading economy. Similar efforts should be made in India,” he said. He also claimed that the liquor ban has not hit Bihar’s revenue collection.

BMC Game for Toilet Talks With Residents

Salman Khan’s family and other residents of Bandra Bandstand can heave a sigh of relief for now.

The BMC has put on hold the work of installing a public toilet on the famous Bandstand promenade as it wants to first hold talks with the residents opposing the project and Mayor Vishwanath Mahadeshwar, who has written to it to relocate the public urinal.

The civic body’s turnaround comes a day after it declared that the public urinal stays at the designated spot despite stiff opposition from local residents, who include Salman’s writer father Salim Khan and Waheeda Rehman.

The subject is very hard-hitting. Partition as an event demands that kind of treatment. While reading stories of partition and its impact on human lives by Saadat Hasan Manto and Ismat Chughtai, I used to get angry and hurt. I wanted to show that in-your-face anger through Begum Jaan in these films.

Collector Who Took on the Mighty Transferred

Mumbai city collector Ashwini Joshi, who had taken on the rich and influential , was transferred within a year of her appointment in a reshuffle that the state government carried out on Saturday.

Joshi had cracked down on many elite clubs of the city for violation of leases, builders for not paying dues to the government and the World Trade Centre for violating lease conditions. She was similarly shifted from Thane.

Joshi has been made the commissioner of state excise, a post that fell vacant after the transfer of V. Radha, who went on central deputation.
