The State Bank of India (SBI) is all set to conduct its recruitment exam to fill over 9,000 vacancies across the country for the position of Junior Associate post (customer support and sales).
The SBI website has listed all details concerning the recruitment criteria. Candidates can apply online for the exam through the official website, sbi.co.in, starting 20 January and will be allowed to appear for the exam only once.
Eligibility
Candidates must be either graduates, or hold an equivalent qualification recognised by the central government to be allowed to write the exam.
People who are already working with the bank as part of the clerical staff will not be eligible to apply. Only selected candidates will be eligible to take up the written examination.
Differently-abled persons will get a 4 percent reservation in the direct recruitment category.
Only candidates between 20-28 years of age will be eligible to apply. Any compromise with regard to the age limit will be done as per guidelines laid out by the government.
Selection Procedure
Candidates will be selected on the basis of preliminary and main exams, which are scheduled to be administered online. Along with this, they will be tested on the language opted for. However, candidates will be eligible to take the language test only if they qualify for the main exam.
The selected candidates will be on probation for a minimum period of 6 months.
Preliminary & Main Exam Scheme
The preliminary exam will consist of multiple choice questions consisting of 100 marks. The question paper will have three parts – English Language (30 questions), Numerical Ability (35 questions), and Reasoning Ability (35 questions). The duration for the preliminary exam is one hour. Each question will be allotted one mark.
The duration of the main exam is 2 hours, 40 minutes. The paper comprises four sections which include General/Financial Awareness (50 questions), General English (40 questions), Quantitative Aptitude (50 questions) and Reasoning Ability and Compute Aptitude (50 questions). However, these sections will have negative marking for incorrect answers.
Method of Application & Important Dates
All the potential candidates will have to apply online through the official website sbi.co.in. They will also be required to pay a registration fee.
The latest date for submission of the online application is 10 February. The preliminary exam is scheduled to be held either during March or April followed by the main examination, tentatively scheduled on 12 May.
Candidates will also be required to bring a duly-attested proof of identity as well as a self-attested photograph to the examination centre.
