Race Course Road No More, Now It’s Lok Kalyan Marg

Delhi’s Race Course road has been renamed to Lok Kalyan Marg by the New Delhi Municipal Corporation.

The announcement was made at a press conference attended by NDMC Chairman Naresh Kumar, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Meenakshi Lekhi, the BJP MP who represents the New Delhi constituency in Parliament.

In the joint press conference, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said:

There were some suggestions in NDMC meeting, but consensus was that Race Course Road be now called Lok Kalyan Marg. It has been named after Guru Govind Singh.

As per reports, BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi had proposed “Ekatma Marg” as the new name for Race Course Road, but the decision to rename it Lok Kalyan Marg was taken unanimously.
