1. 18-Year-Old Held for Calling Emergency Number 100 Over 2,000 Times!

An 18-year-old boy has been arrested on Friday in Mumbai and subsequently let off on bail for allegedly making as many as 2,407 phone calls on police emergency number 100 without any reason and passing lewd comments on a lady police constable over the phone.

When asked about the reason, the accused replied “Timepass!” He apologised when he was told his act could land him in deep trouble. For more read here.

2. Chennai: Railway Police Rescue 200 Children from Stations

Chennai railway police have rescued 203 runaway children since early this year.

One of the major operations took place on August 8 when 40 children under the age of 14 were rescued. They were being trafficked from Bihar to Bengaluru with a stopover at Chennai. Read the full report here.

3. He Cooked up a Love Story, Hang Him: Bengaluru Rape Victim

The 19-year-old who was raped in Bengaluru in a moving mini bus said that the claims of her perpetrator is false. She took the same bus on Wednesday, a day prior to the incident.

He is cooking up a story that he proposed marriage to me. I have never seen him before and he should be hanged for his crime.

4. Bengaluru: 15 Men Hoodwinked, End up Vasectomised

Fifteen men, including two who are aged about 20, were duped into undergoing vasectomies on the outskirts of Bengaluru by a man who promised to rid them of their alcohol addiction.

Dealers of exotic birds in Old Delhi’s Kabootar Bazar promise a healthy owl, home delivered on Diwali night, for anything between Rs 6,000 and Rs 15,000 to the rich. The belief goes that sacrificing an owl — the vahan (vehicle) of Goddess Lakshmi — can force her to stay put bringing wealth and prosperity all year round.

7. Hyderabad: Four From Myanmar Held in Fake Passport Racket

Four Myanmarese have been arrested in Hyderabad for illegally obtaining or attempting to obtain an Indian passport. Two of them have already got the passport using fake voter ID cards, Aadhaar cards and other documents, while the other two have applied for the passport.

The arrested people are Rohingya Muslims. A terror angle has been ruled out in the case.

8. Delhi: Serial Rapist Step-Father Convicted

A Delhi man was convicted for raping his 15-year-old step-daughter with whom he has a baby boy. He will be sentenced on December 1. The accused married the victim’s mother in 2002.
