1. Teenager Gangraped in Moving Car in Gurgaon

A 14-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by two youths in a moving car in the Manesar area of Gurgaon.

The girl, a student of Class 9 and resident of Kakrola village, alleged that a youth from her school called her and asked her to meet him near a temple at 4 PM on Wednesday. When she reached the spot, the youth forcibly took her to a car in which three more youths were already present. Two youths raped the girl while the two others assisted them.

The medical examination of the girl has confirmed rape. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the POCSO Act and the accused have been held.

2. Security Forces Gun Down Two Poachers in Kaziranga

Two poachers were killed in an encounter with security forces at Burhapahar range of Kaziranga National Park in Assam on Friday evening.

A group of five poachers exchanged fire with the joint security team of forest guards, Special Task Force and Police. Two of them were killed in the encounter while three others managed to flee.

One rifle and one AK 47, both with magazines, were recovered from the spot. Search is on to nab the trio.

3. Bakery Owner in Thane Arrested for Illegal Possession of Arms

A bakery owner was arrested on Friday from Bhiwandi town in Thane district for alleged illegal possession of arms.

Based on a tip-off, the bakery of Mohammad Asfaque Siddiqui (30) was raided by a team of Thane crime branch officials. Upon search, the police team recovered four long swords having a cover studded with coloured stones, a country-made pistol, four live cartridges, and three choppers from the bakery.

An offence under relevant sections of the IPC and sections 37(1) and 135 of the Bombay Police Act have been registered against the accused. Further probe in the matter is on.

4. Two Arrested With 14 gm Heroin by Narcotics Department in Mizoram

One woman and one man were arrested from the India-Myanmar border in Mizoram allegedly carrying heroin, said a PTI report.

Mizoram Excise and Narcotics department officials on seized 14 gm of heroin from the Mizoram-Myanmar border Champhai town. The spokesperson said Zoremsiama (25) and Zoremsiami (27), both from Khawzawl town were arrested in this connection.

The two accused were booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

The officials are trying to determine the source of the drugs seized.

5. Body of Unidentified Man Found in Faridabad

An unidentified man was found dead at the Ballabhgarh bus stand in Faridabad.

Police reached the spot after receiving information and recovered the body from the location.

The identity of the man could not be established. Blood was coming out of his mouth and nose and there were injury marks on his head, cheek and eye. The word ‘Shankar’ was also written on his wrist.

Prima facie it appeared that the victim had been murdered by unidentified persons who then dumped the corpse at the bus stand. The body has been sent for post-mortem and investigation into the case is on.

6. Robbers Loot Rs 21 Lakh from a Trader in Moga, Punjab

Unidentified armed robbers looted Rs 21 lakh from a trader at Nihalsinghwala near Moga in Punjab.

According to police, three motorcycle-borne armed robbers allegedly looted Rs 21 lakh from businessman Gulshan Kumar on Thursday night. Besides the money, the robbers also managed to get away with other important documents that the trader was carrying like a passport.

Police have registered a case in this connection and are investigating into the matter.

7. Doctor Booked in an Attempt to Rape in Muzaffarnagar

A woman staff of a private hospital has alleged that a doctor attempted to rape her, a PTI report said.

Police has registered a case against cardiologist RB Singh and the manager of the hospital after the victim lodged a complaint against them. In her complaint, the victim alleged that Singh attempted to rape her in his room in the private hospital and threatened her with dire consequences if she tells anybody about the matter.

8. Man Murders a Fisherman on Suspicion of Affair With His Wife

Police have arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly murdering a fisherman in Visakhapatnam, said a PTI report.

According to police, The accused Y Naresh suspected that the fisherman K Pentayya alias Raju has been in an illicit relationship with his wife. Naresh allegedly murdered Raju (35) on the night of 19 February.

The body of the victim was found floating near Fishing Harbour in the city on 21 February.

9. Dead Bodies of Two Women Found in Different Parts of Manipur

The dead bodies of two women were found in different regions of Manipur within an interval of 24 hours, a PTI report said.

According to police, the body of a 45-year-old married woman, reported missing since 22 February, was found on Friday in a paddy field at the Samaram area in Thoubal district.

Meanwhile, another 23-year-old married woman was found hanging from a tree at Thanga under Moirang Police Station area late on Thursday night.

Police have started investigations into the matter.
