1. Haryana Police Arrests 3 History-Sheeters from Gurugram

Three history-sheeters were on Wednesday arrested from Gurugram for their involvement in incidents of loot, dacoity and kidnapping, Haryana Police said.

Two of the accused carried cash rewards of Rs 50,000 each on their heads as announced by Delhi Police, they added.

Arms and ammunition and a stolen car were seized from the possession of the accused, a Haryana Police spokesman said.

2. Man Found Dead With Bullet Injuries in Srinagar

A man was on Wednesday found dead with bullet injuries in his chest in Pattan area of north Kashmir's Baramulla district, police said.

Bullet-riddled body of Zakir Hussain Badoo was found on the outskirts of his Mehmoodpora village in Pattan area, 30 kms from here, on Srinagar-Baramulla National Highway this morning, a police spokesman said.

3. Three Govt Officials Held Taking Bribe in Banned Notes

While the common Mumbaikar is fortifying himself to stand in long queues at banks to exchange his Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 banknotes, corrupt officials were caught on Wednesday while accepting bribes in the two denominations that were demonetised on Tuesday night.

The state anti-corruption bureau (ACB) nabbed three different government officials in three separate cases, while accepting bribes in Jalgaon, Nashik and Ahmednagar districts.

4. Bikers Rob Man of Rs 22L Gold, Cash Taken Out of Bank in Mumbai

A senior citizen was robbed of cash and jewellery worth Rs 22 lakh by two bike-borne men in Kandivli (west) on Monday afternoon. The incident took place when Navinchandra Jhaveri (71) was on his way home from a bank. Police are now scanning footage from cameras installed in the vicinity for clues.

The Kandivli resident's married daughter, who lives abroad, is on a visit to India. Jhaveri had gone to the bank to pick up her jewellery and foreign currency kept in his locker.

5. Trio Dupes E-Tail Shoppers, Held in Delhi

Scores of customers, who had ordered from a popular e-commerce website, were in for a shock when their parcels contained soaps and biscuits instead of phones and laptops. A complaint was registered by the company and three men, including a delivery boy, were arrested. Police said the men would scan the barcode of the products and identify the contents and then replace them with soap bars and packets of biscuits.

Vikas Kumar Jha and Roshan Kumar were arrested from a house in south Delhi's Fatehpur Beri. They admitted that Raj Kumar, who was employed by the company, was the mastermind behind the thefts.

6. Youths Molest Afghan Girl in New Delhi

A 15-year-old girl from Afghanistan was allegedly molested by a group of youths from her country.

According to a complaint registered by the girl's mother, the youths had also uploaded her photographs and mobile number on social networking sites, after which the girl started receiving calls from different persons.

A case has been registered based on the complaint at the Nizamuddin police station and a probe has been initiated. The girl stays with her mother and younger brother in south Delhi.

7. Woman Found Hanging, Kin Allege Dowry Death

A woman was found hanging at her in-laws house in Koyla Nagar in Chakeri police area under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday.

The family of Sapna (21) accused her in-laws of murdering her and later hanging the body to make it appear like suicide. On a statement of her father, police have registered a case under Dowry Act and various sections of the IPC at the Chakeri police station against her in-laws, who are absconding.

8. Police Take Over Case of Six Poison Deaths

After the postmortem report of the sixth victim of a family in Thandarai Colony revealed that it was a case of poisoning, the district administration on Wednesday ordered the police to probe the deaths of all the six members of the family.

District Collector Prashant M Wadnere said yellow phosphorous was found in liver, kidney and blood samples of Christha, 65, wife of Susainathan and resident of Thandarai Colony, in the final report of toxicology and histopathology. The test was carried out at the regional forensic laboratory in Vellore.

She died on 31 October at a private hospital in Athianthal. Five others from the same family – Christopher, 13, Vinod Kumar, 23, Nelson,9, Krithika Merlin, 7, and Joesph, 85, – died between 7 and 25 October.

9. Gang Waylays Cab, Drives It Away

Police have launched a hunt for the unidentified men who drove away a call taxi after attacking the driver near Kodungaiyur on Tuesday. The driver was intercepted by a gang near Krishnamurthy Nagar when he was returning to an IT firm after dropping software engineers at Kodungaiyur.

Police said, R Anandraj, 24, a resident of Thiruvottiyur, worked as a cab driver at an IT company in Porur. On Tuesday night, he had picked up five staffers of the company and dropped them at various places and had reached Krishnamoorty Nagar in Kodungaiyur to drop the last staffer.
