1. Infant Shot Dead by Kin in West Delhi

A two-year-old boy was shot dead allegedly by his uncle in west Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh.

The baby was sleeping with his father when a bullet fired through a window hit him on his head.

According to police, the husband of the victim’s maternal aunt, was allegedly involved in a dispute with the baby’s father.

2. Dalit Man Singed to Death in UP

A 27-year-old Dalit man was burnt alive. He was set on fire in his house at Kherpura village. The accused are now absconding.

Santosh Kumar was sleeping on a heap of dry grass when the accused set the hay on fire, according to the police.

The man was charred to death by the time the family members came to his rescue.

No arrest has been made so far and the investigation is underway.

3. Gurgaon Deputy Mayor Booked for Thrashing Rape Victim

Gurgaon deputy mayor Parminder Kataria, who is facing rape charges, has now been booked for thrashing and beating the alleged rape victim, the police said on Thursday.

Kataria, who is facing two rape cases, was booked on charges of voluntarily causing hurt, criminal trespass, criminal intimidation, criminal conspiracy and crime by several people with common intention under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.

The woman alleged that she was blocked on the way to her house in Laxman Vihar area by three unidentified men in a car.

Later, the three men entered her house and beat her up and threatened her with dire consequences if she did not drop the rape charges slapped on Kataria.

4. Police Arrests Two for Beating and Stripping Youths in ‘Viral’ Video

Over 24 hours after the Government Railway Police (GRP) registered an FIR in the case of a ‘viral’ video in which four men were seen beating and stripping two youths inside a local train, two of the four accused have been tracked down and arrested.

According to a report by The Indian Express , the police have identified them as Haris Shaikh, 24, a Mumbra resident, and Nazeem Shaikh, 23, a Kalwa resident.

The case actually dates back to 2013, but it was only after the video went viral that the GRP registered an FIR and started looking for the people in the video.

5. Police Arrests Gang of Thieves After Dramatic Chase

In a dramatic chase, a police team from Vijayanagar, Bengaluru nabbed three thieves from Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday, while they were trying to burgle locked houses, said The Hindu report.

The police said the thieves would drive down in a car from Delhi and move around the city, breaking into and burgling locked houses. A policeman on patrol duty noticed a car moving suspiciously in Pattegarpalya residential area.

The policeman alerted Assistant Commissioner of Police SK Umesh, who along with the police inspectors of Vijayanagar and Kamakshipalya, rushed to the spot to nab them.

Umesh, who led the team, tried to pull out the driver from the gang’s car but the thieves, sensing danger, tried to drive away, dragging the ACP along for several feet.

The gang then tried to run him over but he jumped sideways in the nick of time. The thieves continued to speed away but were intercepted by another team of police soon after.

6. Online Fraudster Held in Guwahati

Telangana police and Assam police nabbed an online fraudster in Guwahati on Thursday, even as the culprit tried to open fire at the police party. A team of Cyberabad cyber wing police had been camping in Guwahati for the last two days to nab one Vipul, wanted in a Rs 76-lakh online fraud case.

According to The Times of India report, he would send emails promising to get contracts in corporate companies, but after collecting money he would cheat the aspirants. The Cyberabad police party called Vipul on the pretext of some business deal to trap him. Crime wing officials and Assam police were waiting in a car for Vipul, who arrived in a Scorpio car.

7. Two Arrested for Murdering a Man in Delhi

Two people were arrested for allegedly murdering a man. The accused were friends of the victim’s wife’s alleged paramour.

The police arrested 25-year-old Prince Kumar and 35-year-old Amit, both residents of Delhi, for allegedly bludgeoning to death Alipur resident Neeraj Jha.

During investigation, Prince disclosed about his involvement in the murder and also revealed the name of his associates Amit and Anuj. Amit was arrested by police and a motorcycle used in the crime was seized from his possession.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, north east Delhi, Ajit Kumar Singla said the two arrested accused revealed that Anuj was having an illicit relation with the victim’s wife.

A case of murder has been lodged at Police Station Gokalpuri and efforts are being made to nab Anuj.

8. Bhojpuri Director Arrested for Raping Pakistani Actor in Mumbai

Bhojpuri film director was arrested by the Mira Road police for allegedly cheating and raping a small time female actor from Pakistan.

According to The Times of India report, the actor who has been visiting India since 2013 approached the Mira Road police on Thursday along with a lawyer. She alleged that the director who has done a few films and documentaries had exploited her sexually by promising her roles in films.

She alleged that the director even took Rs 35.80 lakh from her to produce a film, which has not seen the light of the day.

9. Pak Abducts 40 Gujarat Fishermen

Pakistan abducted at least 40 fishermen from International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) on Friday morning, according to a report in The Times of India.

The report says Indian fishermen were fishing off the Kutch coast when Pakistan Marine Security agency came and abducted the fishermen with their seven boats.
