1. Bengaluru Sexual Assault: School Headmistress Held
The secretary and headmistress of a private school in Bengaluru have been arrested on the grounds of negligence. Earlier this week, a three-year-old child was allegedly sexually assaulted by a watchman in this school.

2. Rape Survivor Asked To Prove ‘Purity’ In Gujarat
A rape survivor has been asked to undergo a sanctity test in Gujarat, she has been denied abortion by the High Court. She was told to undergo an ‘agnipariksha’ in order to live with her husband.
To prove her purity, the woman has been ordered to keep a 40 kilogram rock on her head.

3. Auto-rickshaw of BBMP Poll Contestant Torched
Unidentified miscreants torched the auto-rickshaw of a contender of Bruhat Bengaluru Maganagara Palike (BBMP) elections in the early hours on Thursday. The autorickshaw was parked outside a house in Teachers Colony in Banashankari.

4. Ranchi Man Duped Of Rs 83 Lakh By FB Friend
A Ranchi businessman has allegedly been conned by a “London-based” Facebook friend, two other foreigners and their Indian conduit of over Rs 83 lakh.
Police believe, the names given by the victim in his complaint, who ended up paying for herbal seeds to a fake UK firm, are fictitious. For more read here.
5. Bengal Teen Dragged Out And Shot Dead
A 19-year-old girl in West Bengal was dragged out of her house by four men and shot dead on Friday. Her father alleges that she was raped before the murder. The incident happened around 12:30 am. The victim’s body was found about 200 metres from her home.
A case will be registered only after the post mortem, the police said.

6. Criminal plaint Against Ex-BEO In Rs 52L Scam
A criminal plaint has been filed against AC Nagesh, a senior lecturer in the District Institutes of Education and Training, Chikkamagaluru, a Karnataka district.
He was allegedly involved in a nearly Rs 52-lakh scam during his stint as Block Education Officer from 2012 to 2014. For more read here.
7. Chennai Youth Held For Creating Child Porn FB Page
A 19-year-old youth was arrested in Chennai on charges of creating a child pornography page on Facebook.
M. Manikanda Prabhu, the accused, had created the Facebook page and had photographs of girl children with obscene comments on them. The FB page, which was created two months ago and had more than 20 followers, has been deleted. Read the detailed report here.
8. Girl Killed in Kolkata, Lesbian Angle Suspected
A teenage girl’s body was recovered on Thursday evening in Kolkata. The police is suspecting that a girl who was spurned killed her.
According to sources, the accused had been pressurising the victim to accept her as a lover. When the victim refused, the accused chased her out of her home and stabbed her repeatedly.

9. Sex Racket Busted in Uttarakhand; Six Held
Six people, including two women and a minor girl, were arrested in Uttarakhand, for their alleged involvement in a sex trade racket. The minor girl was later released and handed over to the parents. The remaining five are in jail.
