1. I-T Dept Raids CCD Founder, SM Krishna’s Son-in-Law in B’Luru
Café Coffee Day founder VG Siddhartha, who is also Karnataka BJP leader SM Krishna’s son-in-law, was raided by the Income Tax Department on 21 September.
Over 20 locations in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai and Chikmagalur have been searched by I-T officials. Several properties that belong to Siddhartha, including offices of Amalgamated Bean Coffee Trading Company – which owns the Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) franchise, Serai Estates and Global Village are being investigated.

2. White Tiger Dies After Fight in Bannerghatta Biological Park
In an unfortunate mishap by Bannerghatta National Park employees, a fierce territorial fight broke out between two Royal Bengal tigers and two White tigers.
While one White tiger escaped with minor injuries, the other was severely injured on its spine, face and paws and was immediately taken to the veterinary doctors. Sadly, the tiger passed away on Wednesday night.
Soon after the fight, there was huge social media outcry after the video shot by several tourists went viral.

3. Mangaluru Youth Develop App to Counter Blue Whale Challenge

Taking a cue from the deadly Blue Whale Challenge that has claimed several young lives across the globe, a software firm based in Mangaluru has introduced a similar game, but with positive outcomes.
Rise Up Game, or RUG, poses 30 challenges to be taken in 30 days. These include visiting an orphanage and clicking a selfie with parents or guardian during a meal. Those who complete at least 25 challenges will be rewarded with an e-certificate.
"We contacted a lot of people from different walks of life, including teachers and parents. We have inculcated most of the suggestions we received," Harish Neermarga, CEO, Accolade Tech Solutions, told reporters.

4. Congress Is a Party of 'Thieves', Says Karnataka Congress MLA
The ruling Congress in Karnataka found itself in an embarrassing situation on Thursday after a video in which a senior MLA is reportedly heard describing the Congress as 'a party of thieves' went viral.
The Congress MLA, KN Rajanna from Madhugiri assembly constituency in Tumkuru district, had reportedly made the statement during a public function at Thimmalapur near Madhugiri a few days ago.

5. Don’t Drag Us Into Gauri Lankesh Murder Case: Sanatan Sanstha
The Sanatan Sanstha, that has been accused of having links with the murders of rationalists MM Kalburgi, Narendra Dabholkar and Govind Pansare, has distanced itself from the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh.
Sanatan Sanstha should not be dragged into the case without any evidence, office bearers of the right wing organisation from Goa said while addressing the media in Bengaluru on Thursday, 21 September. The organisation demanded that a fair probe be conducted into the death of the activist-journalist.

6. Bicycles-on-Rent Coming Soon to Cubbon Park
You will soon be able to pedal away in one of the city’s biggest lung spaces.
The Tourism Department, along with the Horticulture Department, will put in place a bicycles-on-rent system in Cubbon Park. Tourism Minister Priyank Kharge said that this was an attempt by the department to improve the experience of tourists in the city.
“The Bengaluru Tourism Advisory Committee has been formed to suggest new initiatives, and one of them is to to develop the Cubbon Park circuit. Introducing cycles on a rental basis is one step in this direction,” he said. It would later be extended to Lalbagh.
