‘Bhaskara’, a super computer, will now help meteorologists conduct research and development related to prediction of weather including effective forecast of tropical cyclones, heavy rainfall and cloud bursts. The supercomputer, with a high-resolution regional models, will be dedicated to the nation later today by Union Minister for Earth Sciences Harsh Vardhan.

5. 2011 Monica Kirnapure Murder Case: Court to give Verdict Today
After examining 31 witness in the Monica Kirnapure murder case, Justice M W Chandwani is all set to give his verdict today. Monica was was stabbed to death on March 11, 2011 near her college in the Nandanvan area. Special prosecutor appointed in the case was Ujjwal Nikam, along with Sudeep Jaiswal as the defense counsel for the four main accused, Krunal Jaiswal, Shrikant Sonekar, Pradeep Sahare and Umesh Marathe.

7. China to stage live ammunition drill near Myanmar border today
China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) will conduct a joint live-ammunition exercise today in the country’s southwestern Yunnan Province along the Sino-Myanmar border, the same area where a Myanmar warplane killed five Chinese citizens while pursuing rebels, military sources said.
8. Pak may raise with US India’s alleged role fomenting unrest
Pakistani Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhry will meet top Obama administration officials today and is expected to discuss with the US the alleged role of India’s external spy agency RAW in abetting violence in the country. The decision comes as a result of a series of allegations by top Pakistani leaders against RAW’s support for militancy. Chaudhry is leading a delegation at an important meeting of the working group under the Pakistan-US Strategic Dialogue in Washington today.
