In a shocking incident, the principal of a school in Sonipat allegedly raped a 16-year-old student, on the pretext of helping her clear her Class X exams, while setting up a dummy student to sit for the paper instead.
According to a report in The Times of India, the principal, who is also the owner of the school located in outskirts of Gohana town in Sonipat, had told the girl’s father to drop off his daughter at the former’s relatives house, and leave.
The principal had told the girl’s father that he would set up a dummy student to sit for her Physical Studies examination, which was to be held on Tuesday, 13 March. According to the report, the principal had also demanded Rs 10,000 from the father, for “helping” his daughter.
Catch News reported that while the dummy student sat in for the girl in question, the principal raped her in his relative’s house. When the girl’s father went back to pink her up, she told him about the incident and mentioned that the two women who the house belonged to, were also involved.
Following a complaint registered with the police by the girl’s father, the principal as well as the two women have been booked under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
“Soon after recording the statement of the survivor, we registered a case and a team of counsellors was asked to help the girl,” the police told TOI.
The three have reportedly been absconding since Tuesday itself.
