Two lawyers from Tamil Nadu on Friday, 15 March, moved the Supreme Court seeking court-monitored probe into the Pollachi serial sexual assault case. They also asked for directions to the state and its police to provide necessary safeguard to the victim and their families, reported Live Law.

The plea also sought the director general of police to initiate a departmental enquiry against R Pandiarajan, the Coimbatore Rural Superintendent of Police, for revealing the identity of the victim, the report added.

This comes a day after the Madras High Court declined to order a court-monitored CBI probe into the Pollachi case, citing the Tamil Nadu government order transferring it to the central investigating agency.
