Shaktimaan, a 14-year-old horse in the police service, was allegedly beaten up by BJP’s Mussoorie MLA, Ganesh Joshi. The horse was left with a broken leg, which later had to be amputated.
On Saturday, a statue of the horse was installed in Dehradun as a tribute. However, it was removed on Tuesday morning, reported NDTV.
According to the report, Harish Rawat, the Uttarakhand Chief Minister who had visited Shaktimaan when she was injured, said:
I leave it for the next government to decide if this statue needs to be here or not.
Shaktimaan succumbed to her injuries earlier this year in April. Before her death, an incredibly generous gesture was shown by Tim Mahoney, a 54-year-old residing in Kentucky, who traveled over 12,000 km to Dehradun and deliver a prosthetic limb to the injured Shaktimaan.
