Narendra Modi faced criticism from within his party on Friday when Maharashtra MP Nana Patole said that the Prime Minister doesn’t like being asked questions.

At a discussion on farmers’ distress in Nagpur, Patole of Bhandra Gondiya constituency accused Modi of being indifferent to farmers’ plight, The Indian Express reported. He said that Modi was not willing to discuss issues related to the OBC community and farmers’ suicide at the meeting of BJP MPs.

Modi doesn’t like to take any questions, and got very angry when I raised some issues about the OBC Ministry and farmers’ suicides at a meeting of BJP MPs. When Modi is asked questions, he asks you if you have read the party manifesto and are aware of various government schemes.

Patole added that he is not afraid of Modi though Central ministers lived in a state of fear. Further, he said he was planning to opt out of his position.

According to him, when he tried to discuss about Central investments in agriculture sector, an agitated Modi asked him to ‘shut up’.

Patole also criticised Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, claiming that he didn’t get the state its rightful share of Central funds.

“I am a farmer and fighting for their rights will always be my priority till the last breath,” Patole told The Times of India.
