Aadhaar Mandatory to Attend PM Modi’s Event in Patna University
Students of Patna University have been asked to upload their Aadhaar cards as identity proofs to register for the university’s centenary celebrations. The event, which will take place on 14 October, will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A disclaimer of sorts on the top of the online registration form states that post-graduate students and registered research scholars willing to participate in the event “are directed to register themselves online”.
Earlier, the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences had made Aadhaar mandatory for admitting patients.
According to a National Herald India report, out of 4,000 participants, only 2,000 will be students. A total of around 1,300 students have so far registered for the event.
