The Supreme Court on Wednesday will hear the case filed by a group of journalists against the attack on media persons outside the Patiala House Court on Monday, 14 February.
A group of journalists walked from the Press Club to the Supreme Court of India but the Delhi police stopped them from entering the court premises.
The group submitted a memorandum, seeking cancellation of licences of lawyers involved in the assault.
A delegation of journalists then approached the Home Minister Rajnath Singh to inform him about the attack.
Singh, calling it an unfortunate incident, heard their demands of intervention, ensuring “accountability of the Delhi Police who watched silently as the assault happened”.
The memorandum by the journalists was submitted to the Supreme Court even as it agreed to hear a petition tomorrow on a plea seeking action against those involved in the violence at Patiala House court complex.

No arrest has been made even 24 hours after the assault where Delhi BJP MLA OP Sharma was also seen beating up a CPI activist.
The journalists also said that the CCTV footage of the incident should be called for and police should be directed to ensure the protection of journalists and other media persons.
