There was no pressure on me to resign, I have done it by myself. If my resignation can save the image of my party, I will sacrifice.

Ganga and another BJP leader Choudhary Lal Singh had resigned on Friday after their participation in a rally supporting the accused in the Kathua rape and murder case was criticised.

The crime branch of Jammu and Kashmir Police has submitted a chargesheet in the case against eight accused, including two special police officers and a sub-inspector and a head constable for destroying evidence.

The body of the girl was recovered from the Rassana forest in January, a week after she went missing from the area while grazing horses.
