The Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MSCPCR) on Tuesday, 19 June issued notice to Congress President Rahul Gandhi for sharing a video on his Twitter page which showed two Dalit boys being beaten up and paraded naked in a village in Maharashtra's Jalgaon district.

The boys were flogged for allegedly swimming in a well that belonged to an upper caste person. The teenagers were paraded by two men, one of whom owned the well.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi shared the video of the incident on 15 June, saying “taking bath” was the boys’ only “fault.” In the tweet, he also added that history will not forgive people if they do not question the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
