1. 500 Ground Staff March to Jet Office, Demand Salary
On Friday, when debt-ridden Jet Airways operated just nine domestic flights and cancelled all international flights till Monday, around 500 ground staff working at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) marched from the terminal to the airline’s office in Andheri seeking clarity on the company’s future. The employees claimed they were yet to receive salaries for March.
The protest march was led by Kiran Pawaskar, the chief of All India Jet Airway’s Officers and Staff Association. Pawaskar, who could not meet airline CEO Vinay Dube, as he was not in the office, said the meeting with other senior executives was not fruitful.

2. Stop Reclamation for Mumbai’s Coastal Road Till 23 April: HC
The Rs 14,000-crore Coastal Road project is set to be delayed after the Bombay high court (HC) on Thursday restrained the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) from carrying out further land reclamation till 23 April.
BMC is the nodal agency for the 29.2-km project, which is expected to improve north-south connectivity and help unclog the Western Express Highway and other arterial roads.
Thursday’s order came while the HC was hearing two separate petitions filed by a group of activists and a non-governmental organisation (NGO) — Society for Improvement of Greenery and Nature — raising environmental and ecological concerns about the project.

3. Iconic Piccadilly That Introduced City to Shawarmas to Down Shutters
The BMC has revoked the health licence of the iconic Piccadilly restaurant for not complying with fire safety norms. Housed in Colaba’s Donald House, Piccadilly has been serving Irani, Lebanese and Parsi fare for over 60 years and is known for introducing the city to shawarma. If the restaurant fails to shut down its shutters, the BMC has threatened to seal it forcefully.

4. Court Allows Peter Mukerjea to Stay at Hospital for Recovery Post Bypass Surgery
A court here on Thursday allowed Peter Mukerjea, an accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, to stay for some more time at a city-based private hospital where he underwent bypass surgery last month. CBI court judge J C Jagdale allowed the former media baron to continue treatment at the hospital. Earlier the court had rejected Mukerjea's bail plea on medical grounds.

5. Accessible Toilets on List as Girls From Mumbai Slums Release Charter of Demands
Adolescent and young girls from 10 wards of the city on Friday come up with their own charter of demands in the poll season, seeking accessible toilets, safer public spaces and more newspaper stands in slums.
The Girls’ Charter of Demands, spearheaded by seven organisations under the banner of Adolescent Girls Learning Community, encourages girls to hold meetings with corporators, assembly representatives and government officials to discuss their demands. The demands included ensuring community toilets are safe for use even at night and providing sufficient security in public places.
