Pradeep Jain was murdered at his Juhu office on 7 March, 1995. The Times Of India reported that his brother Sunil Jain was an eyewitness to the murder and suffered injuries in the attack.

TOI also reported that Jain was killed by hired hitmen.

Riyaz Siddiqui's co-convict in the blasts case is already serving a life sentence for the 1995 murder. According to TOI the same court which had found Salem guilty, in 2015, held Mehendi Hasan (50) guilty for the murder while holding rival builder VK Jhamb (86) guilty of extortion.

According to a DNA report, Siddiqui's trial was separated as he had turned approver, but later, was declared a 'hostile witness.'
