The Washington Post published a satirical article a day after French President Francois Hollande met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Chandigarh. The article was a compilation of awkward moments of Modi, who loves to hug his international counterparts.

On various occasions when Modi has tried to express fondness for his international friends, the internet has had a field trip.

Be it his Chinese gangster moment or the Mongolian swag moment with US President Barack Obama, the “thug life” memes are bound to come around.

The Washington Post article too, made a list of moments Modi tried to hug and, well, could not. One such picture was when Modi tried to grab a photo opportunity at the Nek Chand Rock Garden in Chandigarh.

However, just like the virtual critics who generally hit bull’s eye, the news daily refused to play fair and allow a human moment to their target.

For instance, the hug between Modi and French President Francois Hollande — which isn’t really a hug, as The Times of India pointed out.

However, the Washington Post had already listed it as an “awkward hug”, and started the internet trend, and they got buried in the other Modi pictures of awkward hugs’ listed by them.

Dear smart trolls, we count on your smart spots of awkward moments. This just wasn’t one.
