Pope Francis, the highest authority of the Roman Catholic Church, holds the rank of being the most followed leader in the world, with over 33.7 million followers on Twitter. The Pope shot up to the first position after previous holder Barack Obama finished his tenure as the President of the US, during which time he was ‘the uncontested political leader of the digital world’.

Second-Most Influential Leader

Modi is also the second most influential leader, according to Twitter leads, says the report. With 35 million interactions in the last 12 months, Modi’s overall interaction rate is at 0.04%, while Trump tops the list with five times the interaction of Modi’s, and an interaction rate of 0.34%.
