A private memorial plaque of actor Salman Khan’s dogs Myson and Myjaan that was erected in the public garden at the Mehboob Studio roundabout in Bandra, Mumbai in July, has now been removed. The Quint was one of the first to report the existence of the plaque.

A Bandra resident, Arun Nair, insisted that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) take down the memorial, which is illegal in the first place.

Here’s a picture of the property after the memorial was removed.

The construction of the memorial violates the Supreme Court’s orders of 2013 which states that:

Henceforth, states shall not grant permission to install any statue or erect any structure on public roads, pavements and sideways and other public utility places.

What is also shocking is that the private memorial at Hill Road garden is less than a kilometre away from American Hill Bakery, the place where Salman Khan allegedly drove over a sleeping pavement-dweller in 2002 under the influence of alcohol.
