The Father of the Nation’s family members refuse to reveal the events that landed them in an old-age home.

However, Kanubhai has thanked Dr GP Bhagat, who runs the home, for providing shelter when he was “homeless”.

However, Dr Gandhi refuted his choice of words. Talking to The Hindu, she says:

We are not homeless. We are just a little clueless. We don’t have a bowl in our hands. We don’t want money, we just want prayers. I am quite capable of getting us out if we were in the US, but here we do not know to navigate.

Kanubhai, who has worked at NASA Langley Research Centre and studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, lived in Hampton, Virginia, with his wife, according to the report.
