It’s Gandhi Jayanti today and we as a nation are celebrating the birth anniversary of a man who united India and led us towards freedom from the shackles of the British raj.
Mahatma Gandhi, also known as the father of the nation, was born on 2 October 1869 in Porbandar, Gujarat. He was a believer of non-violence and he encouraged people to live their lives in a manner full of love, non-violence and in service to our nation.
Here are some inspirational quotes by Mahatma Gandhi that are still relevant today:
“The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
“Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s need, but not every man’s greed.”
“There is no school equal to a decent home and no teacher equal to a virtuous parent.”
“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.”
“An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.”
“Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.”
