Maharashtra CM-candidate Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday, 27 November invited PM Modi for his oath-taking ceremony over a phone call, their first conversation after the Sena broke alliance with the BJP and parted ways with the NDA.
Earlier, NCP leaders Praful Patel announced that the Speaker of the Maharashtra Assembly will be from Congress and the Deputy CM of the state will be from NCP.
Maharashtra Congress Chief Balasaheb Thorat, on Wednesday, said that the sharing of portfolios within the alliance partners will be decided over the next couple of days.
Uddhav Thackeray will be sworn in as the CM on Thursday.

What Has Happened So Far
In an unprecedented special hearing on Sunday, a Supreme Court Bench rejected the plea by the 3-party combine to direct the Devendra Fadnavis government to undertake the floor test within 24 hours, saying this issue would be dealt with only after perusing the two letters.
The apex court said the plea of the post-poll alliance, 'Maha Vikas Aghadi', seeking a direction to the Governor to invite them to form government under the leadership of Shiv Sena supremo Uddhav Thackeray would not be considered for the present.
Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar were sworn in by Koshyari at 8 am on Saturday, 23 November, in Raj Bhavan in Mumbai after dramatic midnight developments, leading to the lifting of President’s rule.
The BJP was propped up by NCP's Ajit Pawar who revolted against his party headed by his uncle Sharad Pawar. The junior Pawar was made the deputy chief minister.
The top court also issued notices to the Centre, Maharashtra government, Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar on the petition filed on Saturday night by the Shiv Sena-Nationalist Congress Party(NCP)-Congress combine against the Governor's decision to swear in the BJP leader as the chief minister.
Ajit Pawar Meets Fadnavis; CMO Says They Discussed Farmers' Issues
After remaining ensconced in his south Mumbai residence throughout Sunday, 24 November, NCP leader and newly anointed Deputy CM Ajit Pawar met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis late night and held closed-door discussions.
In a statement late on Sunday, the Maharashtra CMO said the Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar discussed farmers’ distress in the state.

Shiv Sena threatened the BJP to go with "anyone" if the demands were not met, but in spite of talking to us, they were also talking to Congress and NCP, Fadnavis said, adding that they spoke to everyone but them.
The Governor invited us after the term of the previous government got over, but we didn't have the numbers so we backed off first, Fadnavis said, adding that Shiv Sena couldn't prove its numbers either, which is why President's Rule was imposed.
Three parties were having discussions for over 10 days. It took so long for them to agree because they are not ideological partners, Fadnavis said.
“The hunger for power is such that now Shiv Sena leaders are even willing to ally with Sonia Gandhi,” Fadnavis added.
Will Not Poach MLAs, Don't Have the Numbers: Fadnavis
At the media briefing, Fadnavis said that Ajit Pawar had approached them to form the government in Maharashtra, being the NCP whip. After the SC asked for a floor test on Wednesday, Ajit Pawar came to his house and said that he cannot continue with the alliance, Fadnavis said.
“Now we don't have the numbers. It was always my stand that we will not poach anyone's MLAs,” Fadnavis said. All the NCP MLAs were with Ajit Pawar and that is why we decided to form the government, he added.
NCP-Shiv Sena-Congress Alliance Will Crumble: Fadnavis
The NCP-Shiv Sena-Cong alliance will crumble, Fadnavis said on Tuesday, adding that he was extremely happy with the work BJP has done over the last five years.
“I am satisfied with the trust people showed in us. In the past five years, I worked tirelessly for the state as they gave me the mandate. I thank PM Modi, Amit Shah, JP Nadda, all ministers, MLA, MLCs, my team,” Fadnavis said, adding that they would serve as Opposition party.
Absolving the central leadership of any responsibility for the failure of BJP-Ajit Pawar alliance, Devendra Fadnavis said the decision to ally with NCP supremo Sharad Pawar’s nephew was taken by the party’s state leadership.
“Any decision happens in the state, not at the Centre. The decision to go with Ajit Pawar was the decision of the state leadership. And I don’t think this will malign my clean image. I am who I am and Maharashtra’s public knows it very well. They have accepted me,” Fadnavis said.
BJP Will Work as Effective Opposition: Fadnavis
“After this I'll go to Raj Bhavan and tender my resignation. I wish them all the best whoever will form the government. But that will be a very unstable government as there is huge difference of opinions,” Fadnavis said.
“I doubt that this three-wheeler government will be stable but BJP will work as an effective opposition and try to raise the voice of people,” Fadnavis added.
“No matter how they were in power, I also thank the Shiv Sena for their support in my first term,” Fadnavis further said.

HC Raises Security Concern over Uddhav Thackeray's Oath-Taking Ceremony at Shivaji Park
The Bombay High Court on Wednesday raised security concerns over the swearing-in ceremony of Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray as chief minister at Shivaji Park here, and said holding such functions at a public ground should not become a regular feature.
Henceforth, everyone will want to use the ground for such ceremonies, a division bench of Justices S C Dharmadhikari and R I Chagla said.
"We do not want to say anything about tomorrow's ceremony...we are only praying that nothing untoward happens," the court said while hearing a plea of NGO Wecom Trust on whether the Shivaji Park was a playground or a recreation ground.
"What will happen is that this (holding ceremonies) will become a regular feature and everyone will want to use the ground for such ceremonies," the court said.
The high court had in 2010 declared the area as a 'silence zone' after the PIL was filed by the NGO.
Tight Security for Uddhav Thackeray's Swearing in as CM
Elaborate security arrangements are being made at and around Shivaji Park in Dadar in central Mumbai where Uddhav Thackeray will take oath as Chief Minister on Thursday evening, a police official said on Wednesday.
Senior police officers, including joint commissioner of police (law and order) Vinoy Choube, reviewed the security preparations at the venue on Wednesday, the official said.
"Adequate number of police personnel will be deployed at the venue as thousands of people are expected to attend the event," a senior Shivaji Park police station officer said.
Police personnel in civil clothes will be deployed, he said, adding that drones and CCTV cameras will be used to monitor crowd.
